Exeter Garden Sculpture

At the age of 31, David Undery has already gained a well-earned reputation as an artist in concrete - his work reveals a passion for the tactile and delicate nature of a substance which has become the hallmark of his inimitable style. Commissions are varied from 3-dimensional sculpture-work to the mural-like wall 'paintings in concrete' for which he is best known.

Garden SculptureFrom concept to completion, Undery is experienced in working closely with designers and specifiers, initially producing computer generated design-choices inspired through his understanding of their Brief. Through the use of lustrous colours, textured carving plus inlays of metals and other materials, Undery creatively interprets themes and ideas into art which is both meaningful and contemporary.

It is Undery's own dedicated passion for concrete which enables him to transform the substance into a truly unique, aesthetic art form. The durable and lasting qualities of his work make it ideal for both interior and exterior use - indeed his art has twice enhanced Award Winning gardens at Chelsea Flower Show and he has won many prestigious corporate commissions, including a recent triptych for offices in Oxford arranged through Art & Business.

His paintings in concrete could just as well adorn walls in hospitals, shopping precincts, public buildings, swimming pools, stadia, underground passes and many public areas where permanent hard-to-damage art would add a feeling of well-being and life. The sectional nature of his wall sculptures means that the size of the area to be covered could be endless. Undery is constantly progressing this exciting and unique art form to embrace the 3-dimensional concept of free-standing architectural sculptures.
