Garden art is often rightly regarded as the finishing touch to
any professionally designed plot or landscape. With his new
limited edition sculpture entitled “Voice of Nature”,
David Undery has created unique hand-crafted garden sculpture which
is both complementary to any planting scheme and sensitive to its
surroundings.
At 5’6 high, this impressive sculpture grows skyward from
an organic bark-like textured base into a smooth shell-like geometrical
ellipse, stimulating the viewer’s tactile and visual senses.
Ebony pigmentation creates a dramatic backdrop to the richly-bright
central inlay of 24 carat gold revealing the key philosophy behind
this stunning piece of garden art – a harmonious balance
between natural and man made elements.
“My art has always been about touch and feel as well as
creating pieces with substance and soul. I wanted this outdoor
sculpture to react to its environmental setting and become a natural
part of its surrounding. For me it’s as if the sculpture’s
golden ear listens sympathetically to its ambient sounds only to
sing out silent notes in reply, reacting with its glorious situation.” explains
Undery.
“Voice of Nature” is being cast in a limited edition
of 10 sculptures, each individually formed and finished. Available
through quality garden art retailers and direct from Undery, Voice
of Nature retails from around £4750 inc VAT. Undery also
undertakes commissions and projects from both professional designers
and private individuals for sculptural pieces as well as his trade
mark ‘Paintings in Concrete’ for which he is best known.
Ideal for garden settings Underys concrete work has been on show
twice at Chelsea Flower Show, most notably being featured as part
of Andy Sturgeon’s Gold Award Winning Garden in 2005. |
